Baja Whale Adventure

Venture with us to experience one of the most incredible connections one can ever have with wildlife in their natural environment. This adventure brings you to 2 unique locations within the Baja California peninsula of Mexico. Our first stop is in Guerrero Negro to observe the grey whales migrating south from Alaska. One of the longest migrations of any animal, these whales travel a distance of approximately 10,00 to 12,000 miles (16,000 to 19,000 km) for the main purpose of pregnant females (cows) giving birth to their calves, nurturing them in shallow, protected lagoons. These lagoons are the only locations on earth where one can have up close and extremely personal encounters with these whales. These gentle giants are the ones initiating whatever contact occurs and they are the ones dictating the interactions.

Generally, these whales begin arriving in late December and can often be observed until the middle or end of April. Definitely an extraordinary level of whale watching and an experience like no other!

In addition to the grey whales, we cross the peninsula and travel 2
hours north to Bahia de los Angeles, which offers a vast biodiversity of marine wildlife, particularly within the Sea of Cortez and the numerous islands that surround the bay. The main objective here is to search for large baleen whales, in particular humpback whales, fin whales and possibly blue whales. Because of its unique topography, there is a high abundance of nutrients in the channel, providing precious food for large marine mammals, such as whales, dolphins and sea lions. One of the greatest things about Bahia de los Angeles is to expect the unexpected while out at sea!
